Jōjō Pork Curry
A heavy pile of slow-simmered pork. The house signature.
Above the clamor of the
outer market, on the 2nd floor of
the Yuzuki Building — a single bowl of curry.
The Tsukiji branch opened in 2015, a small door on the second floor of the Yuzuki Building in the outer market, carrying on from the original shop in Fudōmae.
By the time the morning market din settles, customers climb the stairs and take a seat. A bowl is set down slow. Pickles sit on the table. The curry roux — help yourself, as many times as you like.
Rice from Miyagi. Pork simmered low and slow. Nothing flashy about this shop — just rice cooked fresh every morning, prep done fresh every day, and that simple routine, kept up.
The charred, fragrant classic.
The big one. Come hungry.
A surprising pairing, one clean bite.
Curry meets tuna mayo.
Formed, grilled, handed over. One in each hand, on the landing of the stairs.
